Gardai are investigating claims that a woman and her daughter were the victims of a drive by shooting in Letterkenny at the weekend.
The two were working at a chip van in the Newmills area of the town when a shot was fired at their vehicle by a passing car.
They were not injured but damage was caused to the van.
The incident occured at around 7.30pm on Saturday evening.
