Donegal Senator says Irish trucks must be exempt from new travel tax

A Donegal Senator has called on the UK Government to introduce an exemption for Irish registered trucks which will be traveling through Northern Ireland.
A new tax is set to be introduced on April 1st which will see hauliers crossing from the south into Northern Ireland having to pay a daily tax of £10.
The haulage industry feel the introduction of the charge will have major repercussions for Irish hauliers operating in the six counties and transiting through them.
Senator Brian O Domnhaill says Irish truckers crossing the border should be exempt from the new tax:
