A security alert at Talbot Park in Derry ended just before 7 o’clock last night after a suspicious object was reported by a member of the public.
A controlled explosion was carried out on the object which has been described as a crude but viable device.
It’s now being examined by experts, and all roads in the area reopened last night.
Police are asking anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity in the Talbot Park area recently to contact them at Strand Road on the non-emergency number 101. Information can also be passed anonymously through the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
