A Donegal councillor who has not attended HSE Regional Forum meetings for over a year and a half says he has saved the tax payer around €7,000.
Cllr Frank Mc Brearty says he was going to Galway to ask questions that can best be answered over the phone and via e-mail by people in Donegal.
Her says this is money which could be better spent on the health service, and calls into question the government’s commitment to streamline quangos.
Cllr Mc Brearty says one particular HSE Forum meeting in Limerick proved the last straw for him……..
