Differences have emerged between two Independent Local Election candidates in the Glenties area over whether people in Donegal should prevent Irish Water contractors from installing water meters.
Following successful campaigns in Cork and Dublin this week, Government Ministers have appealed to the public not to target contractors, but to treat them with respect.
However, Micheál Cholm Mac GiollaEasbuig says people should do everything they can to stop the implementation of water charges…………
However, Michael Mc Clafferty, who also worked on the campaign against the household charge, says taking action against contractors will not resolve anything.
He says discussions with the government and Irish Water on the state of water infrastructure and the quality of supply must be the way forward……………
