Daniel O’Donnell has announced the death of his 94-year-old mother Julia this morning.
Mrs O’Donnell passed away at 3.50am as her family kept a bedside vigil.
Daniel had rushed home from Scotland where he was performing last Monday night to be at his mother’s bedside.
Daniel confirmed the news on his official website stating:
“It is with great sadness that we have to announce that our dear mother Julia passed away peacefully in the loving care of the staff of Dungloe Hospital surrounded by all her family on Sunday, May 18 at 3.50am,”.
“My siblings John, Margaret, Kathleen, James and myself would like to thank you all for the kindness you have shown to her down through the years. May her gentle soul rest in peace,” he added.
The funeral of Julia O’Donnell will take place in St. Mary’s, Kincasslagh on Tuesday afternoon at 1.00pm
