Ireland is to receive €148 million from the EU under the Common Fisheries Policy over the next six years, with Donegal Deputy Joe Mc Hugh saying it represents a significant increase on previous allocations.
He says it’s extremely positive news for the fisheries sector, which has struggled in recent years.
Deputy Mc Hugh says it’s very important that the benefits of the allocation are felt on the islands and remote Donegal communities which have suffered as a result of the ban on drift net fishing and other EU regulations…………
