Update – N56 reopens after Dungloe crash

The main N56 road between Loughanure and Dungloe was closed for a time today as a result of a serious road crash at 2 o’clock this morning.
The single car crash happened near the Cruckakeehan  junction.
It is understood the car was coming from Dungloe travelling in the direction of Loughanure.
The male driver and female passenger, both in their twenties, were rushed to Letterkenny General Hospital, where we understand the man remains seriously ill.
The road was closed to facilitate a technical examination, it reopened at around 2 o’clock this afternoon.
