The Irish United Nations Veterans Secretary has defended the removal of a war memorial from Bernrad McGlinchy Park in Letterkenny.
A new war memorial to commemorate members of the armed forces who have died overseas is to be erected in Conwal Cemetery.
Some members of the public in Letterkenny have said that the current memorial should remain as is.
