Donegal County Council is to examine the possibility of twinning a number of towns in the county with towns in Palestine.
The issue was raised by Palestinian Ambassador Ahmad Abdel-Razek, who was accorded a civic reception at County House in Lifford yesterday afternoon.
Last night, the ambassador addressed a public meeting in Gweedore in protest at Israel’s actions in Gaza, over 200 people turned out.
The ambassador says there are many similarities between Donegal and Palestine, and a twinning arrangement would reflect that……….
