Letterkenny Councillor Gerry Mc Monagle is calling on the County Council to contact the owner of a derelict house in the Crievesmith area of the Town and request that he immediatly secure the building and clear up the rubbish that has been dumped around it.
Cllr Mc Monagle said the bungalow was bought a number of years ago with a view to developing the site but with the downturn in the economy this did not materialise and now the residents of Crievesmith/Rahan area are left to suffer from anti social behaviour and the illegal dumping of rubbish on their doorstep.
He says the house has been used as a drinking den and the dumping of household waste for a long time, and was recently damaged in an arson attack.
Cllr Mc Monagle now wants the council’s planning department to get involved….
