James Horan has stepped down from his role as manager of the Mayo Footballers.
His resignation comes just hours after Mayo were beaten in an epic All-Ireland semi final replay by Kerry this evening.
Horan had been in the job since 2010, leading Mayo to two All-Ireland finals, where they lost to Donegal in 2012 and to Dublin last year.
Kerry reached the All-Ireland Final this evening with a 3-16 to 3-13 win over Mayo after extra time in their All-Ireland Semi Final Replay in Limerick.
