Bus Eireann’s nationwide strike to go ahead

dublinbusFriday’s bus strike will go ahead after talks aimed at resolving the dispute broke down.
More than 1 million passengers will be left stranded when Dublin Bus and Bus Eireann services grind to a halt at midnight tomnight for 48 hours.
Unions and management from both companies held exploratory talks at the Labour Relations Commission this afternoon but those talks have ended unsuccessfully in the past few minutes.
The row centres on plans to sell off one in ten routes to private operators.
Speaking on the way out of the LRC, SIPTU’s Owen Reidy says they weren’t happy with what they heard at today’s discussions:
