The number of people treated at Letterkenny General Hospital increased, particularly in the Emergency Department in 2014.
When inpatients, day case patients and people passing through A&E are combined, over 62,000 people were treated at Letterkenny General Hospital last year.
Letterkenny General Hospital treated 21,161 people on an inpatient basis last year, a 6.4% increase over 2013, while the number of day cases that went through the hospital in 2014 was 17679, a marginal fall of less 1% on the previous year.
There were 57,815 outpatient appointments, down 4% on 2013.
Letterkenny’s Emergency Department remains a hugely busy one, with 34,093 attendances last year, 10,631 of whom were admitted.
There were 1,677 births at the hospital last year, a fall of 6.3%.
