Derry City advanced to the third round of the Irish Mail FAI Cup after they overcame “non-league” Edenderry Town 3-0 at Paddy Maloney Park.
Josh Daniels had a penalty saved by Edenderry goalkeeper Eddie O’Donnell in the first half before Mark Timlin put the candystripes ahead.
Oran Farrell did get the ball in the net for the home side but it was ruled off-side.
City, though, showed their extra class and the Premier Division side effectively wrapped things up when Seanan Clucas got their second after the break.
Derry got a third late on with substitute Sean Houston tapping in from close range.
