A 22-year-old man has appeared in court accused of pointing an imitation firearm at his ex-girlfriend’s head.
Dylan Glen Smith, whose address was given as Methodist Mission, is charged with possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
The charge relates to an alleged incident in the Creggan area of the city on August 14.
Derry Magistrates Court heard allegations Smith and another man, who has been released on police bail, forced their way into a flat carrying what witnesses believed to be a hand gun.
This later transpired to be an imitation firearm.
It is alleged Smith was ‘covered in blood’ and pointed the gun at his ex-partners head.
He also allegedly pointed at the head of two other women who were in the property at the time.
The court was told the alleged incident occurred in front of Smith’s children, aged two and three.
All three women believed they were going to be shot.
District Judge Barney McElholm refused bail and said he would not allow Smith to ‘live anywhere in this city’.
The 22-year-old was remanded in custody to appear in court again via videolink on September 3.
