93 All Ireland winner Barton named Derry Senior Manager

Derry GAA have announced Damien Barton as the county’s new senior team manager.
Barton was formally ratified at Tuesday night’s county committee meeting  for a two year term, effective immediately.
A statement from the county board said “A highly respected All-Ireland winner with Derry in 1993, Damian Barton brings a wealth of playing and coaching experience to the position, as well as an in-depth knowledge of Derry football.”
Barton who managed Kilrea this year will confirm his backroom team in due course.
He takes over from Brian McIver who stepped down in July after their exit in the qualifiers.
