The Irish Government is being urged to commit to providing funding for the proposed Derry-Dublin air route, which is expected to commence in April 2016.
Backing the call, Donegal Councillor Gary Doherty said authorities at City of Derry Airport have recently submitted a formal funding request to the Government for funding of just over £185,000 – roughly €253,000 – to subvent a new Derry to Dublin air route to serve the North West.
A similar amount is being provided by the British government.
Cllr Doherty says recent figures show such a subvention is justified………….
