Tory Island awarded funding to boost local tourism

Tory Island has been allocated funding for Comharchumann Thoraí.
Islanders applied for the grant to enable them to buy equipment to carry out work to improve the landscape there, boosting local tourism.
Various projects will be carried out with funding, including the creation of new focal points on the island and a general facelift for the area.
Manager of the Co-op on Tory Island, Bridget McGarvey says it is hoped after the work is carried out; they will enter next year’s Tidy Towns Competition:
