Update – Flooding problems continue as Storm Desmond takes its toll

Update 12 30 –
 
Road closed between Nairn and Portnoo as a result of a fallen tree and rocks on the road. It ill remain closed until at least 3 o’clock.
Liscooley and Castlefin Bridges are impassable.
Glen Road at Pobail Scoil Gaoth Dobhair is impassable.
Coshclady Road flooded at Bunbeg.
Gardai in Ballybofey are reporting severe problems, and are urging people not to travel unless necessary.
Navenney Street to Glen Road is flooded, the Glenfinn Road at Blue Cedars is impassable, as is the road from the Barca Bar to Aldi. There is also severe flooding from Navenney Street to Finn park.
N56 road between Kilmacrennan and Creeslough will remain closed for some time as a result of sever flooding. Please use alternative routes via either Glen or Dunlewey.
Gardai also reporting heavy flooding near the Molloys Factory outside Ardara on the Killybegs Road.
 
 
 
Update 12.15 – Power outages rectified in Dungloe and Kilcar. 90 homes now without power in the vicinity of North Inishowen.
 
Saturday 11am –
 
Gardai are telling us that the N56 road between Kilmacrennan and Creeslough will remain closed for some time as a result of sever flooding. Please use alternative routes via either Glen or Dunlewey.
Gardai also reporting heavy flooding near the Molloys Factory outside Ardara on the Killybegs Road.

Cranford to Carrigart road at Mulroy please be careful as the road is flooded at that point
 Liscooley Bridge impassable
 Castlefin bridge impassable 
Strabane to Letterkenny road has a lot of surface water too, slow down and be careful
 Back road from the Cross to Ballybofey is flooded best to go the main Killygordon to Ballybofey Road.
 
ESN Networks report that 112 households are now without power in the Rosses area, while 16 remain without power in Kilcar. The outages in the Downings and Rossguill area have been rectified.

Saturday 9am –
Following a night of heavy wind and rain, gardai in Donegal are reporting flooding in a number of areas. There are floods on several side roads, please do be careful wherever you are driving. ON the main routes in the county, bad flooding is being reported at the Log Cabin, Creeslough and at Termon Hall, both on the N56.
There have been reports of cars being stuck in both areas.
There is also a lot of surface water on the N14 between Letterkenny and Lifford .
At present, ESB Networks report 110 households without power in the county, with 63 households without power in the Downings / Rossguill area, 31 in the Rosses and 16 in Kilcar.

N56 is closed between Ardara and Glengesh at Edergole, diversions via R262 Frosses.
Local Road between Churchill and Kilmacrennan closed at Trentagh, local diversions in place.
N13 flooded between Stranorlar and Kilross at Tircallan, road is passable with care.
R252 between Ballybofey and Glenmore closed due to flooding, local diversions in place.
Local road between Milford and Kilmacrennan closed due to flooding, local diversions in place.
Donegal County Council is urging those living in areas prone to flooding to continue to be extra vigilant and to exercise caution over the next 24 hours.  If you are out and about on the roads today take extra care as there is a lot of surface water on the roads.
