The man who died in a tree-felling workplace accident has been named locally as 29-year-old Jonathan Gormley.
Mr Gormley was a father of two who lived in the Ballyshannon area but was from Belleek, Co. Fermanagh.
It’s believed he was cutting trees for a private contractor in Barnesmore Gap when the workplace accident happened yesterday.
Emergency services remained at the scene until late last evening and his body was removed to Letterkenny University Hospital where a post mortem examination is due to be carried out today.
His funeral will be held in Belleek on Thursday.
The area has been sealed off and two seperate investigations are being carried out by Gardai and the Health and Safety Authority however Gardai say are not treating the death as suspicious.
