Declan Gallagher to tackle Galway Rally in Subaru S8

Donegal’s Declan Gallagher is changing wheels for the Irish Tarmac Championship opener in Galway at the start of February.
The modified National and Tarmac champion will swap his Toyota Starlet for a Subaru Impreza S8 supplied by Garry Jennings.
The car was the 2002 Prodrive Subaru that Tommy Makinen drove and it won the Circuit of Ireland under Derek Mc Garrity and the Irish National Rally Championship with Niall Maguire.
Declan will revert back to his two wheel drive Starlet for other rounds of the championship later in the year.
Looking ahead to Galway, Declan says “it’s a different challenge stepping into a WRC car and I’m excited about driving the S8 on the roads of Galway.”
