Finn Harps suffered their fifth Premier Division defeat of the season losing 3-1 to Cork City at Turners Cross.
After making the long trek south, the task of getting something out of the tie was made even more difficult after seven minutes, with Cork scoring two goals early on.
The first came two minutes in, Gearoid Morrissey’s effort from the edge of the box took a big deflection off Packie Mailey and ended up settling in the net. Five minutes later it was 2-0, a Sean Maguire  header powered into the top right corner.
Cork played the final 35 minutes with ten men after Kenny Browne was sent off, players squared up in the Finn Harps box following a challenge on Richard Brush, who was replaced by Ciaran Gallagher in goals.
With fourteen minutes remaining on the clock Karl Shepherd scored the third hitting the bottom left corner from 15 yards out as Harps pulled one back late on through Ryan Curran, set up by Liam Flaherty.
The worring injury list will be a concern for Harps Manager Ollie Horgan who had to take Adam Nolan and Raymond Foy off after suffering knocks.
