The principal of Gaelscoil Cois Feabhail in Moville has confirmed that plans to take over the former St Joseph’s Boys’ School in the town will be put on hold following the fire which severely damaged the building yesterday.
Gardai and the Fire Service say there are indications that the fire may have been malicious, and appealing to the public for information on today’s Shaun Doherty Show, local Superintendent Eugene Mc Govern confirmed that reports of the building being used as a drinking den are also being looked into by Gardai………
The plan was for the school to become the new home of Gaelscoil Cois Feabhail, but that is now on hold.
Principal Anthony Doogan told Shaun today that the building must be examined, and the budgetary implications of what has happened fully considered before any decisions are taken.
He says this has come as a major blow, particularly as plans for the move had been making major progress in recent weeks………
