Brendan O’Donnell throws PB to qualifying for European Hammer Final

Brendan O’Donnell has qualified for the final of the hammer at the European Youth Championships in Tbilsi.
The Lifford/Strabane ac man throw a personal best 70.06 metres in the first round of the heat to seal his place in Friday’s final.
Brendan finished 7th with the top 12 progressing. The throw was nearly three metres beyond his previous best.
The Finn Valley trio of Sommer Lecky, Arlene Crossan and Janine Boyle will also be in action at the championships tomorrow.
