Finn Harps initiate new strategic plan

Finn Harps Football Club is to begin work on a new strategic plan at the beginning of next month. Mike Gaffney, the Managing Director of LEAP has been appointed to assist in the development of a coherent strategy that will enable the long term sustainability and development of the club. Harps Secretary John Campbell said he was delighted to have acquired the professional expertise of Mr Gaffney to progress a very important aspect of the club’s future in League of Ireland football
“The club recognises that this is an opportunity for all parties interested in the development of soccer in Donegal to have an input into how Finn Harps can maximise its contribution in this regard. We are very aware of the broad spectrum of support Harps has from multiple sources and is very keen that all interested parties have an input into the development of the club’s strategy” Mr Campbell said.
It is with this in mind that the club is running a focus group workshop at the start of the strategy development process, which will be held on October Tuesday on the 4th of October from 6-8 p.m. in the Villa Rose Hotel, Ballybofey.
“The focus session will be facilitated by Mike Gaffney of LEAP and it will follow the format of round table discussions, with the insights from each table captured and collated by LEAP. These insights will provide direct insights into the formulation of the club’s strategy.” The purpose of the strategy is to provide all the club’s stakeholders with a clear understanding as to where Harps is going and how it proposes to get there. “The strategy will provide clarity and focus regarding decision making and what the club needs to concentrate on to make planned measured progress. Finn Harps has been an integral part of the Donegal landscape for generations. We are confident that the strategy development process we are undertaking will ensure that this continues to be the case for future generations. As a club we are now look forward to the active contribution of interested parties” Mr Campbell said.
Mike Gaffney’s specialist area of focus is leadership development. Working with business owners and senior management of organisations throughout Ireland, Mike has established a strong reputation in assisting decision makers to successfully demonstrate leadership and drive business forward.
