McMonagle leaves Harps while Derry will use The Showgrounds in Europe

In the SSE Airtricity league Premier Division there’s a busy night of action ahead.

Harps have to contend with a host of injury problems and Ollie Horgan’s selection options haven’t been helped by yesterday’s news that Tommy McMonagle has left the panel.
The defender took to social media to confirm his departure after only making two starts this season, both in the EA Sports League Cup.
Derry City are at home to St. Pat’s this evening – hoping for a first league win in seven games.
The Candystripes have drawn their last two matches as they lie fifth in the table.
Having returned to score in Tuesday 1-1 tie with Limerick, Ramelton’s Barry McNamee will start against for Kenny Shiels side.
Midfielder Rory Holden could feature having missed five weeks while Aaron McEneff is also set to return.
Elsewhere leaders Cork City host third placed Bray Wanderers, second placed Dundalk go to bottom side Galway, Drogheda meet Sligo and Shamrock Rovers are at home to Limerick.
Meanwhile, the Derry Journal are reporting today that Derry City will stage their UEFA Europa league first round qualifier at the Showgrounds in Sligo, after Sligo Rovers reduced the fee for use ot its facilities.
Dundalk’s Oriel Park had already been identified as the venue of choice by Derry, but it’s believed Sligo’s grass pitch is the preferred option for City boss,Kenny Shiels.
