Derry City bow out of FAI Senior Cup

Derry City were well beaten in the FAI Senior Cup last night by Dundalk in Oriel Park.
4-0 was the final score, with the Lilywhites having scored in the first minute through a Mountney goal. Dundalk controlled the action in the first half, but Aaron McEneff crashed a shot off the cross bar five minutes from half-time. 1-0 was the score at the break.
Dundalk continued their dominance in the second half, and just 7 minutes had passed when they scored their second, David McMillan converting a penalty. Barry McNamee had a shot cleared off the line on 67 minutes, but Dundalk took control again and scored twice in the last 8 minutes to make sure of the win.
Dundalk now go into the hat for the next round of the cup.
