Council must re-examine LIS application selection process – Mc Daid


Donegal County Council has been criticised for the selection process used for Local Improvement Scheme applications, with Councillor James Pat McDaid calling on senior management to clarify the situation.
Councillors have been told that a total LIS application was submitted to the Department of Rural and Community Development to the value of almost €23 million, but the authority indicated that it was possible to deliver an LIS programme to the value of €1 million in the current year.
It was later announced that €884,000 of funding was secured for Donegal under the LIS Scheme, the third highest allocation in the county.
Councillor McDaid says there are issues to be addressed……..
