Donegal County Council has been urged to consider widening its approach to Japanese Knotweed.
Cllr Adrian Glackin has called for a national or local plan to be put in place to eradicate the problem completely.
Concerns of the invasive species also spreading along river banks have been relayed to the council.
Meanwhile, a pilot programme has been rolled out in Dungloe, which Cllr Glackin hopes could be extended to further areas of the county.
