A Donegal County Councillor has raised concern over the impact plastic bottles are having on the environment.
Councillor Terence Slowey raised the issue at the recent sitting of Donegal County Council, where he urged the local authority and the Department of the Environment to reduce single-use plastic waste in the county.
The majority of Ireland’s recycled plastic is imported by China, however in two years time, China has announced that it will no longer do so.
