As part of the Ireland 2040 plan, the Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht has announced its plans to invest €1.2 billion.
€50 million is being allocated to a number of projects throughout the country which will include the improvement of visitor facilities at Glenveagh National Park, Co Donegal.
Funding will also be allocated for the development of strategic tourism facilities along the Wild Atlantic Way, including Sliabh Liag, An Earagail and Fanad.
Meanwhile, €33 million is being invested in Gaeltacht Language Planning which will enable the creation of an additional 400 Údarás na Gaeltachta jobs annually across Donegal, Mayo, Galway, Cork, Kerry, Waterford and Meath.
And pier facilities will be improved at Machaire Rabhartaigh to facilitate a new passenger vessel for Tory Island as part of a national investment of €27 million.
