Planning permission for a retirement village at the former site of Thornhill College in Culmore, Derry has been given the green light.
The development will retain three existing buildings at the front of the site see the demolition and redevelopment of the remaining buildings to provide a 65 bed care home and 68 semi-independent living units.
Local Councillor Sandra Duffy has welcomed the announcement and says the delvelopment will add to the regeneration of the area as well as provide much needed facilities:
