Irish Water holding information evening on Moville Sewerage Scheme


Irish Water is holding a public information evening on Monday to present plans for the Moville Sewerage Scheme.
The utility is working to end the discharging of untreated wastewater into Lough Foyle and the Bredagh River by developing a sewerage scheme for Moville.
People are invited to attend an information evening on Monday November 26th at the Foyle Hotel, Moville between 5:30pm and 7:30pm as Irish Water present plans for the Moville Sewerage Scheme.
Untreated effluent is currently being discharged into the Bredagh River and Lough Foyle at five locations.
While the EPA has also identified the town as having no water treatment and says the untreated discharges are creating significant pressure causing pollution in the Bredagh River.
Irish Water expects to submit a planning application for a new wastewater treatment plant and collection system to Donegal County Council next year.
It is envisaged planning, design and construction will take 4 years, commencing in 2019.
