A section of the former army barracks in Lifford is to undergo refurbishment works with a view towards housing a social welfare office there.
It’s not yet known how many people will be employed at the office once it’s up and running.
Meanwhile, Donegal County Council has also confirmed it intentions to use other buildings on the site as office accommodation for council staff.
Local Cllr Gerry Crawford says it’s a positive development for the area, and its hopeful that it will pave the way for a digital hub to be housed there in the near future:
