LYIT’s historic Sigerson Cup run has continued after they defeated Sligo IT 1-14 to 1-08.
Michael Murphy’s team started the brightest and led 1-04 to 0-01 after 14 minutes with the goal coming from Donegal’s Michael Langan.
Sligo IT quickly rallied and reduced the gap after Tiernan McSkean netted for the hosts 21 minutes but LYIT then extended their lead to 5 at half time.
In a low scoring second half, LYIT never let Sligo close the gap to anymore than five as they held on to book their place in the Sigerson Cup semi final.
LYIT will now face UCC of Cork or IT Carlow in the semi final.
