Huge progress has been made in driving down the rate of Covid-19 across Donegal.
Latest figures show decreases in the rate of infection in Lifford/ Stranorlar, Milford and Letterkenny.
However, there’s been a significant increase in Donegal local electoral area.
According to figures up to Monday, the Covid-19 14 day incidence rate in North inishowen has increased slightly to 171 with 29 confirmed cases.
Meanwhile in the South of the peninsula, the infection rate and case numbers are down to 161 per 100,000 and 36 respectively.
Milford local electoral area currently has the lowest incidence rate and number of cases in the county at 8 with and infection rate of 58.1, half of what it was the previous 14 days.
There’s been a drop too in the highly-populated Letterkenny to 23 cases and an infection rate of 77.2.
The trend continues in Lifford/Stranorlar where the cases have dropped to 53 and the incidence rate to 92.
The rate of infection in Glenties has decreased also to 92 and cases are down from 28 to 22.
There’s been a spike in the infection rate in Donegal to 309.5 which is above the national average of 240.4. 82 cases have been reported there, up from 55 compared to previous figures.
