Council urged to examine potential erosion effects near Letterkenny

 

Donegal County Council is being asked to urgently examine the potential effects of erosion on the R250 outside Letterkenny.
Cllr Donal Mandy Kelly says just beyond the Newmills Bridge, there is a point where the River Swilly is right beside the road, and he fears erosion of the river bank may compromise the integrity of the road itself.
He’s urging officials to look at the situation closely, and if necessary, undertake remedial works as quickly as possible:
