Northern Ireland risks losing out due to Protocol – Donaldson

DUP leader Jeffrey Donaldson says the North risks losing out economically, as a result of the Northern Ireland Protocol currently in place regarding trade between Northern Ireland and the rest of the UK following Brexit.

The Irish Foreign Affairs Minister says there has to be “generosity” on both sides, in order to find solutions to the Northern Ireland protocol.

Simon Coveney says the EU moved in “a positive way” this week by extending the chilled meats grace period, and also said it was time for the UK government to reciprocate that.

Coveney’s comments come as DUP leader Donaldson is urging the UK to unite against the protocol, saying it hurts Northern Ireland’s economic opportunities:
