Covid 19 incidence rates rising in NW

Following HSE concerns at rising Covid case numbers in the North West last evening, it’s emerged this afternoon that Sligo now has the second highest incidence rates in the state after Donegal.

Latest figures show that in the two weeks to midnight on Tuesday, Donegal had a 14 day incidence rate of 359.9 cases per 100,000 people, while Sligo’s rate was 213.6.

These compare to a national rate of 121.8.

Only seven counties have a rate higher than the national average, 19 have a rate which is lower.
