PSNI treating war memorial damage as a sectarian hate crime

Police are treating damage to a war memorial in County Antrim as a sectarian hate crime.

Flags were stolen and flag poles broken at the memorial in the Ballymena, which is dedicated to men killed at the Battle of the Somme.

It’s the second time it’s been targeted in three days.

PSNI are appealing for anyone who saw anything, or who has dashcam footage, to get in touch on 101.
