Donegal County Council officials have pledged to look at providing more signage to alert people to changes to the speed limit on the Four Lane Road between the Polestar and Dry Arch Roundabouts on the N56 outside Letterkenny.
A comprehensive programme of safety works is now underway, with a 50 kilometre per hour speed limit in place for the length of the road.
Even though most of the work is at night, officials say the limit will be enforced at all times.
The limit was 80kph, but will be reduced to 60kph once the works are complete.
