A new Technological University in North West could provide a €600 million boost to the Irish economy from research, innovation and teaching.
The Northern and Western Regional Assembly has found that every €1 of expenditure by the new Connacht-Ulster Technological University is likely to result in an overall increase of nearly €4 in output to the Irish economy.
The group expects the new facility could lead to the creation of up to 3,000 jobs.
The Technological University would encompass Letterkenny Institute of Technology, Sligo IT and GMIT
