£84m spent on A5 despite construction yet to begin

The A5 improvement project is back in the spotlight after it emerged that £84 million has already been spent on the project, despite the fact that construction hasn’t even started yet.

Stormont figures show from 2007 until May of this year, £53.4m has been spent on consultant fees, and around £30m on contractors, ground investigations, service alterations, archaeology and land cost, together with other costs relating to public consultations.
