Teachers do not have “absolute right to privacy” on vaccination status – Expert

A leading health expert has said that in a pandemic teachers do not have the “absolute right to privacy” when it comes to vaccination status.

His comments come as the Department of Education confirmed yesterday that unvaccinated teachers will be allowed to teach children in person, while principals cannot ask their staff to declare their Covid vaccine status.

But Professor of Health Systems at DCU Anthony Staines says it’s not unreasonable to seek vaccine status while cases are still high in the community:
