153,000 people received the Pandemic Unemployment Payment this week – down 3% on the previous seven days.
More than €45 million was paid out by the Department of Social Protection.
Donegal, Dublin and Cork had the highest number of people who closed their claims, while Longford, Leitrim and Carlow had the least.
Almost half of those who stopped receiving the payment work in the accommodation and food services sector.
4,540 people in Donegal have received the payment this week, down 4% on last week’s figures.
