HSE under fire over lack of supports in Carndonagh

Questions are being asked as to why supports for children with intellectual disabilities are still suspended in Carndonagh, months after a Covid-19 outbreak in the area.

The outbreak happened in August with families and service users having to remain at home while staff were redeployed.

Local Cllr Albert Doherty says this latest issue is further evidence that the provision and delivery of Respite supports and day services in North Inishowen is the “Cinderella” of the Health Service.

Cllr Doherty says the current situation is simply not good enough those affected deserve better from the HSE:
