Culdaff businessman Johnny McGuinness has been officially selected by Fine Gael to serve on Donegal County Council in the North Inishowen area.
He is set to replace his late father Bernard who sadly passed away last August at the age of 77.
Johnny McGuinness had been widely tipped to fill the vacancy with Fine Gael holding a virtual convention last night.
He will be formally co-opted onto the Council on Monday and Johnny says it’ll be a bittersweet day:
A night in celebration of Bernards life is due to be held in the coming weeks with details to follow.
