Concerns raised after 50 students have Letterkenny accommodation cancelled

Concerns have been raised after 50 students were told last week that their student accommodation booking in Letterkenny would be cancelled for the upcoming year.

It’s understood Walnut Grove returned deposits to students, stating that due to upcoming refurbishment works they could no longer house them.

Some students affected pre-booked the accommodation as far back as March, leaving them now with less than two months to secure a room for the upcoming academic year.

Issues around student accommodation have been raised by the Donegal ATU’s Students Union for several years, with less rooms being offered in the town despite more students than ever attending the college.
