Transatlantic jet makes mayday call of Donegal coast

A transatlantic jet had to perform an emergency landing at Shannon Airport after making a mayday call off the coast of Donegal yesterday afternoon.

The United Airlines flight left Edinburgh before issuing the emergency call.

It’s understood the Boeing plane suffered pressure problems and came to land at Shannon just after 12 midday.

Emergency services were scrambled to assist but no injuries to the 252 passengers were reported.
